Bake Strawberry Short cake in minutes
If you have a sweet tooth and do not like chocolate, then chances are that you would love strawberry short cake. This dish was discovered years back in America and is considered as one of its classics. Gradually, it has gained popularity across the globe. If you have always wanted to know how this strawberry short cake can be baked, here is your chance to do so.

The ingredients required to bake Strawberry Short cake are strawberries ( about 2 pints), ½ a cup of sugar, 6 spoons of caramelized sugar , 4 cups of flour, 2 spoons of baking powder, 1 pinch of salt, 12 spoons of butter, 2 cups of milk and whipped cream for decoration.

The recipe
We start with making the strawberry syrup. You can either opt for strawberry crush readily available in the market or you can go for strawberry syrup made at home. For making homemade strawberry syrup you need to put the diced strawberries and sugar in a pan and keep stirring. Keep moving until the diced strawberries and sugar dissolve into strawberry syrup.

In the meantime, you can start to preheat the oven to save time. Now is the time to concentrate on the short cake. For this we first need to sift flour, baking powder and sugar till they are mixed properly. Then we add the chilled butter and keep stirring the flour mixture till the flour takes a smooth texture. Once done, we keep the mixture in a freezer. This would help us to get rid of extra moisture in the flour paste, which would aid us during the baking process.

Take the mixture out from the fridge after 5 minutes and mix milk; whipped cream with it until smooth dough is formed. Once the dough is ready, flatten it out with a base of 3/4th inch. Once it’s flattened use a cookie cutter to cut it into 3 discs of 4 inch each, which needs to be baked in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes until it turns crisp.

Take the discs out from the oven and start to assemble the strawberry short cake. For this we need to place one baked disc on top of another with the strawberry syrup in between them. In fact for better taste, you can add strawberry slices in between the two baked discs also. Once the layers are formed cover the entire cake with whipped cream. Once covered, you can garnish with caramelized sugar and straw berry slices.

Variations in Short cake
Instead of baking 4 inch biscuits, you can bake smaller ones and make a couple of strawberry short cakes. This would look better and would be easy to serve too.
